Hillary Will and the KB Racing, LLC team focused on seeing the lights of Las
Vegas
LAS VEGAS, (April 8, 2008) – At this weekend’s, April 10-13, annual running
of the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
just north of the Las Vegas city limits, Hillary Will, driver of the KB Racing,
LLC Top Fuel dragster and the fastest female in the history of NHRA drag racing
(334.65 mph), is looking forward to seeing the glow of the bright lights away
from that other glitzy “strip”.
“The only lights I want to see in Las Vegas are win lights,” Will, a 28-year old
native of Fortuna, Calif., said. “Sure, there are so many things to see when we
race in Vegas. It’s a fun time and there’s always something to do, but my
concentration is certainly on the race car and the race.
“Vegas is like an adopted home track for our KB Racing, LLC team. Our team
owners, Ken and Judy Black and Ken Black, Jr., all call Las Vegas home. We
always want to go out and win, but it would be a little more special if we could
get our dragster in the winner’s circle for the first time at The Strip for
them.”
Will is currently in 8th place in 2008 POWERade Top Fuel championship points.
A former standout in the Top Alcohol Dragster class, Will moved up to the
quickest and fastest NHRA professional class, Top Fuel, in 2006 behind the wheel
of a newly formed team owned by Las Vegas businessman Ken Black and managed by
Kalitta Motorsports, the multi-car team founded and owned by drag racing icon
Connie “the Bounty Hunter” Kalitta. She won her first Top Fuel event trophy in
Norwalk (IHRA) in her rookie season and made her first NHRA final-round
appearance in Memphis. She finished the season in tenth place in Top Fuel
championship points in ‘06.
The SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals begins Friday for the nitro-fueled classes
with two qualifying sessions at 1:30 p.m. (PT) and 4:30 p.m. Two more qualifying
opportunities take place Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The top sixteen
qualified cars will race Sunday in final eliminations beginning at 11:00 a.m.
All times and dates subject to change.
The SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals is the 5th of 24 national events in the 2008
NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
